KENT ARCHJ.EOLOGICAL SOCIETY LIBRARY
FJFrH INSTALMENT
LELAND DuNOAN M:s. NoTEBOOKS
.A:iiTER Leland Duncan's death in 1923, the Society was given his
MSS. by his sisters. The MSS. conrust of notebooks and loose sheets
contained in bundles and a typewritten list made by our member,
A. R. Martin, is in the library. This list details the misce1laneous
contents of the bundles, but in the list printed below only the notebooks,
mainly concerned with Duncan's most important work on wills and
monumental inscriptions are included. In addition, a quantity of small,
working notebooks in pencil, not included in Martin's list, are listed.
These contain copies of monumental inscriptions from churches and
churchyards, many of them not copied into the large notebooks by
Duncan. They are not necessarily complete records for each church,
hut some of them contain plans of the churchyards, with the graves
numbered.
