Archaeology in action! The ankle breaker was a nasty feature of Roman defences designed to snap the ankles of anyone attacking their strongholds! An ongoing excavation at Lympne with @kentarchaeologicalsociety_kas may have unearthed the remains of one such defence, outside of a Roman fort that overlooked the English Channel.
